Bold Brows

It isn’t hard to tell that bold brows are totally in right now.

But unfortunately for me, in high school I discovered tweezers. It was pretty much all downhill from there.

Brows Before

While, as hard I as pray, I will never have the eyebrows of Cara Delevingne, I can work with what I’ve got.

Brows After

The 2+1 for Brows is great for keeping the brow hair I have left in place and giving them substance to pass off as thick and full.  And while 2+1 for Brows isn’t currently available at any retailers, it can be purchased at www.pauladorf.com.

Natural’s Not For Everyone

I’m back on the creamy crack.

Back on the creamy crack.

That’s right. After almost three years of being natural and shaving my head, I couldn’t do it anymore.

After shaving my head, before going back on the creamy crack.

Living in Vermont with ethnic hair isn’t easy. No matter how you choose to wear your hair, you have to resort to DIY.

One of the perks of being a naturalista is the versatility. I finally was able to flat iron my hair again, and it took FOREVER. Literally over eight hours. Um, nope…Not for me.

I can’t even. And I’m OK with that. Natural hair isn’t for everyone.

Are you team natural or team relaxed? Tell me why, I’m curious!

I Have Secrets…

I have secrets.

We all do.

With social media you choose what you put out there. I try to be as real as possible, but at the same time I know that I want my internet presence to look good.

While I don’t post everything that is going on with me (I’m not about that over share life…you are welcome), when I do post about things I am going through, it’s because I want to be honest.
It’s the Sag in me.

Spark Sessions Conference

Lately my passport has been burning a hole in my pocket. I mean I’ve traveled, but I have never been to Canada. Yes, I know that I live in Vermont, and yes, I do realize how sad that is.

Spark Sessions is hosting their fashion and beauty blogger conference next month and having a giveaway on their blog for a change to attend! Now, that being said, what better of an excuse to visit my neighbors up north, than a blog conference?!

The only better question to ask? What would I wear?

Day 2

I like to keep my looks simple when I travel, but simple does not by any means have to be meh. Accessorizing is always a little bit trickier for me, so I basically pack everything I own and decide the morning of what I want to wear. How would you accessorize these outfits?

Not Black Nail Colors

Black is one of my most favorite nail polish colors.

Black Nail Polish

I am trying to switch up my mani game, so I’ve been sporting not black nail colors.
And by this I don’t so much mean yellow, pink, red, but dark colors that are dark, which I find just perfect for fall, but not black.

Not Black Nail Color

My three current not black favorites are Essie in WickedOPI in Nein! Nein! Ok Fine, and Sally Hansen in Dark Huemoor.

In case you were wondering, Julep in Jet is my all time favorite black nail polish.
Do you know of any other not black nail colors that I should check out? Let me know!

Random, but Bioré Pore Strips

After wanting to give pore cleansing strips a try for some time now, I finally caved.

While the manfriend was getting movies from Redbox, I went into Walgreens and picked up a trial pack of Bioré Pore Strips from the travel section.

I had a little bit of time to kill before my trip to the Wrentham Outlets, so I tested them out…

Random, but Bioré Pore Strips

While they looked silly, and hurt like a &$^#&…they were really effective. So, while at the time I may have been cursing and wondering who in their right mind would use these more than once willingly, I now realize that I will.

My New Suede Shoes

I like to shop.

Scratch that.

I like to go shopping.

I don’t go very often, so when I do go, I tend go a little crazy…

My most recent shopping excursion was to the Wrentham Outlets with the manfriend’s sister. She is a horrible influence on me…

…but in her defense, I got some great new additions to my wardrobe + just in time for fall.

Road Trip with the Manfriend

One of my favorite things to do is travel. Via car. With the manfriend.

And because the manfriend and I live in rural Vermont, we spend a lot of time doing just that.

On the road

I love our little road trips. Just as much, if not more so, than date night. Why? I learn so much about him and he’s forced to have to listen to an unfiltered me for 2+ hours.

Road trips with the manfriend

These are the 5 most recent things I’ve learned while on a road trip with the manfriend:

+ He has a great sense of direction. Or at least a WAY better one than mine.

+ He has a pretty decent singing voice.

+ He is kind of obsessed with Mumford & Sons. And Dubstep…

+ He’s never seen Matilda. I mean, what kind of deprived childhood..? (If you don’t already follow Mara Wilson on Twitter, stop and go follow her. Not now, but right now.)

+ He needs new glasses. OK, this one is more of a mental reminder for myself.

Just Shake It Off

I’m not quite sure why, but lately I’ve been in a little bit of a frump. Not necessarily in a bad mood or anything like that, but just feeling kind of lazy + unmotivated.

After spending an amazing weekend in Brooklyn with The Blogcademy

…I’ve decided that I really need to just stop it.

And as Taylor Swift would say, I have to ” just shake it off.”

Challenge Yourself

Happy October, y’all!

I don’t know about you, but I get really excited  about stuff and then for whatever reason, that excitement fades. Quickly.

After an inspirational + extremely motivational weekend in Brooklyn, I am making an exerted effort to keep the excitement alive.

How? By challenging myself throughout the month of October.

I remember hearing that it takes 21 days to form a habit. I didn’t think much of it, aside from the fact that 21 is my favorite number thanks to 7th grade Spanish class, but it stuck with me. A month is more than that, so I’m hopeful.

Here are 4 ways I plan to challenge myself in October:

1. Gala Darling’s #lovetober. It’s the perfect photo challenge, period.

2. I will be following the One Room Challenge + challenging myself to spruce up a room of my own.

3. The Coast to Coast Challenge is a style challenge I participate in from time to time, but I want to commit to it this month and do each challenge.

4. Blog Everyday. If you blog you know that content is king. Even if you don’t blog you know that practice makes perfect. One really good blog challenge is #blogtober14. I personally won’t be doing this specific challenge, but if you need blog post ideas, it’s worth checking out.

Are you doing any October challenges? Or are you challenging yourself in another way? Follow me on Instagram to see how I doing, then let me know if you’re going to join so I can follow you as well!
