Your Girl is Back and Here’s What I’m Loving

Like spring, BTS and baseball season, your girl is back!

It’s been a bit, like a little over a year, but I finally feel like I have enough to share about to make a blog post worth hitting publish.

With spring comes changing over your wardrobe, and I’ve recently added some new pieces to mine that I find myself excited to reach for.

Sweaters

Sweaters may not be one of the first things that come to mind when I think of spring, but since the weather isn’t always as nice as the clothes I’d like to wear. Having sweaters that foot the bill are great to have. I really like this La Ligne sweater and this Boden one.

Denim

Denim seems to be my go-to year-round, but I’m not in my twenties anymore, so finding pieces that go with the style of the woman I feel like I’m aging into is a must. I can’t wait to wear this Boden denim dress, that is different from the shirt style dresses I typically wear. That’s not at all to say that I don’t still adore my Frank & Eileen maxi shirt dresses, which will probably always be one of my favorites. There’s absolutely a reason I own it in two colors.

Pants

Even though I still love denim, jeans have surprising no longer been my preferred choice of pant bottoms. Instead I’ve been opting for chic sweats options. Like these Adidas track pants, or these wide leg pants from Varley.

Accessories

When it comes to accessories, I’ve somewhat gone back to basics. I’ve been using tote bags more than actual purses, with the exception of my Coach Brooklyn bag (here’s a similar budget friendly version). I have this customized BaubleBar tote bag in two sizes (each a different color way) and the small one is ideal for a baseball game at Fenway. Of course it’s also perfect for running around doing errands and whatnot, but with this Red Sox bag charm? Too cute!

Bag Charms

Speaking of bag charms, I’m still very much on a big Labubu and Pop Mart kick. The little blind boxes bring me so much joy! I found some Pop Mart bag charms available here.

Jewelry

Likewise, my love for dainty jewelry is still going strong, but I’ve dialed it back a bit and other than a wedding band, I’ve found myself only wearing a few earrings from Studs, and a bracelet that I got to represent BTS (and if you don’t know who BTS is, I don’t know what to tell you).

Matching Sets

And obviously I also have my eye on a few things as well. After a trip to the mall I came across this top and haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. There were also matching pants and a matching set will never not be my weakness. I’ve also been eyeing this top and the matching pants (and/or shorts) from Boden.

Outerwear

For now, I’m just happy to have outwear to keep me cozy until it actually starts to feel like spring consistently. I have four on rotate depending on the weather and my mood. A longling option from Boden (it’s from last year, but here a kind of similar raincoat version), a reversible sherpa jacket, a quilted down jacket with a hood, and a down puffer coat (the last three are all from Varley).

I’m technically still in hibernation mode, which I’m not entirely sure will end, seeing as how there is no Boston Calling Music Festival this year. I do have a concert coming up soon, and may share the look I go with for that night. It’s a Twice concert, so I’m thinking maybe a VS Pink piece or two from their collaboration collection, but we shall see…

The Best Spring Outerwear

Dressing for unseasonal or transition weather can be tricky. There are several jackets and vests that I own that make spring outerwear a breeze.

Here are the five that I find to be the best, I’m not exactly sure what to wear—

Puffer Vest

Puffer vests are my favorite for the hard to dress for seasons. This is in part due to the fact that as warm as they don’t have sleeves, making them the perfect for layering. Alternatively, if it’s cooler, puffer jackets work as well.

Trench Coat

Trench coats aren’t exactly my go-to, however, they do make the perfect spring outerwear piece. This is especially so, if you’re in an office or professional setting at all. And I’d be lying to myself if I said they weren’t the epitome of chic.

Shacket

It doesn’t matter what you call them, shirt jackets will never not be practical. I grab my favorite one for running errands and going to the movies, over everything. If you’re going for casual or cool, this is the spring jacket you want.

Coatigan

coatigan

I love my coatigan, it’s a cardigan that’s thick enough to wear when a coat would be otherwise too heavy. This is something that I’ve had for years, and when my dog ruined the first one I owned, I immediately replaced it, because that’s how good it is to have. Honestly even though it’s recommended for fall, I love it year round.

Aviator Jacket

The newest addition to my cold weather outerwear collection is a cropped aviator jacket. I wanted something stylish and trendy that was also a classic piece that could withstand the test of time and this foot the bill in the best possible way! You can fully expect to see it on my throughout the winter and well into the spring.

Make a Difference with Nordstrom Made

It has gotten so cold outside! And although I want to look cute when I step out, I am not trying to freeze in the process. This year I’m also trying to make the best purchases for both myself and the planet. So, when it comes to staying on trend and warm, I shop sustainable items and do my part to help make a difference with Nordstrom Made brands.

I’ve often shared that one of my favorite ever Nordstrom Made brands is Treasure & Bond. What I may have not shared is that my favorite trending item is the puffer jacket. Finding a sustainable long puffer jacket by Treasure & Bond was the best possible discovery!

I’m the most excited to wear it all winter long. Here are two of the ways that I’ve styled it already–

Since my style is more on the casual side, I had to wear it with my favorite sustainable jeans and a new ribbed tank top that I picked up with the puffer jacket with the comfy boots I essentially live in.

This dress is actually one that I’ve had for a while, I absolutely adore it and cannot recommend it enough. And with the boots and bag that everyone has been raving about, what’s not to love about this look?

One of the best things happened when I purchased my puffer jacket, I was able to use $20 in Nordstrom Notes and ended up technically also getting the Treasure & Bond ribbed tank for free! If that’s not your sign to sign up for The Nordy Club, then I don’t know what is. It’s free to join and you earn points towards Nordstrom Notes when you shop, which you can use to spend with Nordstrom later. As well as free shipping and returns, and curbside pickup.
