My Top Bags for Summer

Part of the reason I was so excited for Clare V. to pop up in Boston, is I love their bags. Clare V. has some of my top bags for summer, including their Sandy Tote and Petit Moyen.

Clare V. Bags

The Petit Moyen is my everyday summer bag. I can grab it, go and look put together while.

On days where I need to carry a little bit more, like a day at the pool, I reach for either my Simple Tote or Sandy Tote, depending on just how much more I need to carry.

Raffia Bags

Another bag I reach for is the Justine Basket Bag from Sézane. It too can carry a lot, but since it’s a raffia bag, it gives a different vibe. That vibe gives summer.

Also Sézane, also raffia, is the Farrow Bag. A bucket bag is a great understated way to add summer to your look, while not necessarily looking like you’re headed to the beach.

Evening Bags

The Staud Mini Moon bag is my favorite for date night. It doesn’t hold very much, so I use it when I only need my phone, wallet and lip gloss. It’s structure and color (I have it in cream), make it an ideal summer evening bag. I like that it comes with a strap so I have the option to wear it crossbody, even though I rarely do.

Similarly, I like to switch out the Mini Moon bag with Cult Gaia Small Arc Bag. This one is a little on the delicate, but a true work of art!

I especially love that all of these bags are under $500. They’ve also all proven to have stood the test of time, in regards to both quality and style/trend (I’ve have had them all for years now), so you don’t have to worry about that.

Do you have a favorite bag for summer? I know I have more bags that I like, but these are the ones I find myself using the most this time of year. Other than the 12″ x 12″ x 6″ clear stadium bag I bring to concerts at Gillette Stadium, of course.

Oh and friendly reminder, if you decide to purchase a bag from Clare V. don’t forget to use my code BETHANY20 for 20% off!

Something About Sézane

Simone Sweater Sezane Simone Sezane Russel Russel Sweater

While I would trade fall fashion for summer weather in a heartbeat, I can’t help but find myself grateful for sweater weather. Especially after discovering the French brand Sézane.

My first of their sweaters was from the Madewell x Sézane collaboration. What I loved most about it was the back details. And the fact that it could be worn backwards for a completely different look.

After seeing other digital fashionistas in Sézane pieces, it was impossible to not fall even deeper in love!

Courtney Halverson (of Pretty Little Fawn) inspired me to get the Simone sweater and Frédérique Harrel (of Freddie Harrel) made me want the Timothée.

These outfits feature two of latest sweater purchases. Even though I styled both of these looks with jeans, knitwear goes equally as great with a skirts, which is how I’ve been wearing them to work.

Which of these sweaters is your favorite and how would you wear it?

Femininity and feminine details aren’t really something that come rushing to the front of my mind when thinking about my personal style. However, I am still actively working on defining my style. One way to figure out if you like something is to try it. The same goes for defining you style.

When the latest Madewell et Sézane collection launched I’m going to be honest. I didn’t love it.

Not that I hated it, I just didn’t feel like it was for me. However, there was one piece that I kind of thought I maybe wanted. A sweater. But it was very feminine.

Fast forward to seeing that same swearer in store and trying it on (on two separate occasions). I knew I liked it, so I bought it. Even though I wasn’t sure how I was going to pull off styling it while being true to how I like to dress.

Jeans were an obvious choice. They allowed me to branch out a little, while remaining comfortable. So comfortable, in fact, that I even added heels to top it off.

A special thanks to Capewell + Co. and AMI Clubwear
for the perfect accessories!

xx
