Blue Milly Vest Rent the Runway Milly Long Vest Outfit Milly Vest Blue Vest

Vest: Rent the Runway | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Shirt: Old Navy (similar)
Shorts: H&M (similar)

Social media has quickly become my source for outfit inspiration. I saw how someone else had styled this blue Milly vest on the Rent the Runway Instagram and knew that it had to be in my next Rent the Runway Unlimited order.

Last summer I just had to have a pair of high waist denim shorts. I got them and they show a little more cheek than I anticipated. The vest covers that right up and I don’t have to worry.

And I wore heels with it because I’m obsessed with these Charlotte Russe finds, but I will be holding on to the vest for a while so I can wear it again with a pair of cute sneakers or flats.

I really can’t get over the pop of color! I mean, royal blue isn’t something I have a lot of, but maybe that should change…

I don’t wear a ton of jewelry.

Sometimes a statement piece, other times a dainty everyday something. My dream necklace is something classic enough to wear with anything, while still standing out enough to be somewhat of a conversation starter.

And when there’s a story behind it? Even better!

UncommonGoods is all about products with a story. They really care about and connect you with the artists behind their handmade goods.

This Golden Slice Agate Necklace is was crafted by Lucy Dalton. And although, in my mind, she created it for me, I was gifted two. One for me and one for a very lucky reader. Please note, that this is technically a flash giveaway and only runs for 24 hours!

Sequin Details Slate & Willow DressLow Cut Back

Dress: Rent the Runway | Shoes: Charlotte Russe (similar) | Clutch: Old Navy (similar)

On Instagram, I shared a sneak peek of the dress I rented from Rent the Runway for my eighth anniversary with the manfriend. It was not the same dress that I wore to our anniversary dinner at Ballo Italian Restaurant, which may have caused a tiny bit of confusion.

I rented three dresses as a part of my Rent the Runway Unlimited monthly subscription.

The Slate & Willow Carlene Dress was what I wore after dinner. We stayed at Mohegan Sun and gambled the night away.

I say that very loosely.

While we did gamble a little, we mostly walked around, did a some window shopping and grabbed ice cream from Ben & Jerry’s. And we talked.

A lot.

We talked about how far we’ve come in our eight years together. About mistakes we’d made and the future we see for ourselves. It was the perfect way for us to celebrate our anniversary.

As we walked and talked, we also broke a lot of necks! I mean it’s kind of hard not to draw attention in a sequined statement piece like this Slate & Willow one. Especially with the low cut back.

Styled by 5 Featuring Jane

Disclaimer: This blog post contains affiliate links.

Each month myself and four other boss blogger babes have been styling the same piece of clothing and since we all look and think differently from each other (hair, religion, location, skin, size, height, style…all of the above), you’ll get five totally different looks. That means you’ll get to see what I style, on other body types so you can find something that is best for you!

Not only because this is my 300th blog post, but this Styled by 5 is a little extra special. This month we’ve partnered up with Jane, to style this Cents of Style foil gold graphic tee.

This month my outfit is all about dressing up the casual. Casual doesn’t have to be boring, which is a misconception that many people have.

Jeans and a tee can mean a lot of things, by opting for camo print Zara bottoms and adding a blazer and heels, you have a look that can be worn to brunch or a night out.

Change into a pair of Converse and you easily run all your errands, while still looking super chic.

There is going to be something fun happening over on Jane’s Instagram a little later today, so make sure to be on the lookout for that. And, as always, don’t forget to check out Deidre, Kaylynn, Jacque, and Alexis, Styled by 5 posts too!

Steve Madden Shoe Looks for Less

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.

Charlotte Russe ShoesCharlotte Russe Shoe Charlotte Russe BOGO

Majority of my shoe collection consists of Zara and Steve Madden. I’ve had my eye on a few pairs of new shoes, but I’ve been trying to save and didn’t really want to spend anything over $100 on just one pair.

They were still in my shopping cart, that is until a recent trip to the mall.

Charlotte Russe was one of the stores that I went to most often in college. Now, I kind of walk by it and look in but keep it moving. It’s more of my younger sister’s taste than of my own. She’s more Wet Seal, I’m more H&M.

Almost serendipitously, I went in and saw a few very familiar shoe looks. Styles similar to Steve Madden’s Slithur, Carrson and Sassey for a whole lot less!

If you don’t know, Charlotte Russe almost always has some huge sale going on. This time? Buy one pair of shoes, get one for $10. So, obviously, I got four pairs. All for less than one of the pairs of Steven Madden shoes I’d been wanting.

The only drawback is that Charlotte Russe doesn’t carry half sizes. As someone who wears a 7.5 size shoe, this can be huge. Luckily, the size 8 shoes (except for the tan chunky heeled ones) fit pretty much perfectly.

2 Ways to Wear Something: Leopard Print Skirt

Not the first time I’ve mentioned this, but although Agnes & Dora is best known for it’s amazingly comfortable leggings, their other items are equally as comfy and cute!
Agnes & Dora skirt two ways.

What I like most about their leopard print skirt (other than the leopard spots, obviously…), is the fact that it looks great both dressed up and kept casual.

Holy chic! Right?

Holy chic.

The second way is actually how I wore it to The Lady Project Summit this past Saturday. Oddly enough, I started to prepare for the summit by mentally picking out my outfit.

Major fail!

I ended up not having anything ready until after I did my makeup that morning.

Even though my outfit was kind of just quickly thrown on, I like to think I looked very much so put together. (I attribute that to the cape blazer.)

NoVae Styled by 5

Wrap shirts and dresses aren’t typically my style, but this NoVAe top is very me. So, for this look I went with the most me things in my closet, including my favorite pair of destroyed jeans and everyday Gap flats.

Don’t forget to check out how Deidre, Kaylynn, Jacque, and Alexis, styled it too!

I get a lot of compliments on bucket bag, and people often ask me where I got it. The answer is Old Navy, so the next time you’re there, you have to make sure to check out their accessory selection!

As for jewelry, I like bold, but I love dainty. More so, I like classic pieces that are timeless or meaningful. My necklaces represent my name and my zodiac sign.

Double the meaning because I layered them.

As a whole, this outfit is basically what I would consider my go to daily uniform.

It may be a little more risqué, but I totally want to try wearing this Novae top without a tank top underneath. What do you think?

2 Ways to Wear Something: Halftee Top

Crop tops aren’t something that I typically wear.

Not because I don’t like them, just because…

And I also don’t own many. Or really any. And when I received this Halftee top, all I could think of is what I could wear it under. Or even over. I mean, it’s perfect for layering.

And reversible.

Then, I thought why not just wear it.

Layer it, but in a way that’s maybe not so modest.

Halftee Top

I read somewhere that culottes were no longer in.

And to that, I say, suck it.

I like them. I’m going to wear them.

This pair I found online at Old Navy, for less than $10!

Alternatively, I’ve started to come to terms with the fact that I wear a lot of black.

I don’t even care.

Again, I like it.

IMG_3443

Not that I have a favorite look of the two, but if I did, this jumpsuit is killin’ it!

I mean, I don’t wear it a lot, for reasons I don’t even know.

But I think it looks fantastic with the Halftee top, and will probably get worn more often with it than ever before.

Tell me how you would style this long-sleeved Halftee.

2 Ways to Wear Something: Cape Blazer

Blazer

Of all the Who What Wear pieces I picked up, the one that had me rush out to Target in the first place was the cape blazer.

I had been wanting to grow up my wardrobe a little bit, and this blazer do just that. And in a trendy way. Now, usually I’m not all that big on trends, but this is one that spoke to my very core.

Never trust a groundhog. Despite his prediction for an early spring, New England has been getting hammered with snowstorms. Thankfully, this month’s Styled by 5 happens to be very weather appropriate.

What’s great about the jacket is that it can be worn in the spring and fall, and in the winter it’s ideal for when you’re wearing layers. Plus it has a hood. As for the hat and scarf set, I especially love the furry pom pom on the hat!
