It seems like everyone is excited for fall. Pumpkin soy latte this, blanket scarf that…
I mean I love wearing sweaters too, but right now my desire to wear open toes shoes definitely outweighs my urge to go apple picking. And right now it’s still warm enough to do both. Yay for being able to continue rocking your sandals while also prepping for Halloween!
A super easy way to take your summer sandals and make them feel a little more this season? Giving yourself a autumn colored pedi is the perfect way to transition your sandals for fall!
My mom gave me these OPI minis that she’d been holding onto. I’m currently wearing Malaga Wine, but will probably switch to Lincoln Park After Dark later this week…
The only way to know for sure is to stalk my Instagram feed.
Can you tell that summer is my favorite season? Maybe I just need some apple crisp in my life…
Last month, myself and four other boss blogger babes teamed up for the first ever Styled by 5.
Each month the five of us will style the same piece of clothing and since we all look and think differently from each other (hair, religion, location, skin, size, height, style…all of the above), you’ll get five totally different looks. That means you’ll get to see what I style, on other body types so you can find something that is best for you!
And make sure to lookout for something styled by the five of us every month!
This top is one that I will be wearing over and over and over and over (you get the point) again.
That being said, I wasn’t exactly sure how I wanted to style it, but opted to pair it with leather shorts from Zara.
To keep it casual? Chucks.
Even though I’m not exactly thrilled that summer is “unofficially” over, this outfit is the perfect way for me to start (slowly) transitioning my look for the fall.
That and ice cream.
Ice cream helps.
And, because I know you’re all wondering, my adorbs necklace (which is adjustable) is from Conflicted Pixie.
If you buy one, tell them Bethany sent you. You won’t get anything, but how cool did that sound?
Don’t forget there’ll be another Styled by 5 next month!
Getting the chance to try Rocksbox was a complete and total dream come true!
I always find myself admiring different pieces of jewelry, but don’t invest in it as much as I would like to. Rocksbox allows you try it and then buy only what you truly love.
I liked by first Rockbox, but the Jenny Bird collar I got this time around was something that seriously challenged my willpower.
At $110, I can’t afford it right now, but it’s definitely being added to my Keep jewelry wishlist!
The Perry Street earrings were something I requested, but I ended up not wearing them. I like the way the looked, I just didn’t go anywhere I wanted to wear them to and wasn’t exactly sure what I would wear them with.
OK, so the Gorjana cuff was not my favorite item, but it was so simple and goes with everything. I wore it SO much that I’m looking to take the plunge and get a similar one from the Birchbox Shop.
Although I still have my heart set on one day owning the Baggu Basic Tote, I spotted the Old Navy tote in stores for like $8. I made a huge mistake and didn’t get it. Went home, suffered from a serious case of fomo, then went back later the same day to get it. It had been the last one and someone else beat me to it. (Add this to the list of reasons why I have trust issues…)
They had similar ones in bright colors that were a plastic-y material for $14, but after searching three different Old Navy’s I was able to find a canvas tall tote which was much closer to the style of the faux-leather tote and cost about the same.
You know how I’ve been saying I want to start doing more style posts?
Well, I’ve teamed up with four other boss blogger babes to bring you Styled by 5!
The five of us will each style the same piece of clothing and since we all look and think differently from each other (hair, religion, location, skin, size, height, style…all of the above), you’ll get five totally different looks. That means you’ll get to see what I style, on other body types so you can find something that is best for you!
Make sure to check out Deidre, Sarah, Jacque and Kaylynn’s blogs to see how they styled this Shabby Apple dress too. And lookout for something styled by the five of us every month!
My style can (and has) been defined as traditional dramatic. I tend to vary between very classic things and super bold edgy pieces. Shabby Apple dresses are dreamy, and this one is timeless!
To add a little bit of drama to it I paired it with a Jenny Bird necklace from Rocksbox and leopard print flats. Even though technically, in theory, leopard tends to be considered a neutral, I don’t care. Leopard print is my favorite color.
So, what do you think? Is the little blue dress the new little black dress?
Maybe not, but that doesn’t make it any less cute!
I recently spent a week in Maine on vacation with the manfriend and his family. This is something we try to do together at least once every year.
I absolutely love it there.
Mostly because I love the beach.
The sun, the sand, the ocean…
And TWO PIECE SWIMSUITS!
This year, I decided I wasn’t going to bother buying a new bathing suit. I mean, I already had several. But the universe clearly had other plans. I somehow found out that Brickyard Buffalo was having a flash sale. All swimwear was $5. Five dollars?! How could anyone pass that up?
I sure couldn’t.
There were quite a few choices but I basically already had my heart set on a two piece swimsuit with high waisted bottoms.
Why a two piece?
I have nothing against one pieces. To be honest it’s not even like I’m all that crazy about two piece swimsuits.
I just really like having the option to mix and match…
Can you blame me?
Plus, I still have two other tops I could rock these with. And when you add bottoms into the equation, I have even more bathing suit possibilities.
What’s your favorite swimsuit style? Comment and let me know!
There are so many different types of subscription boxes that it’s crazy.
Good crazy.
I tried quite a few, with the exception of clothes and jewelry. Part of my hesitation was that these services are typically rentals. Not horrible, but I know I want to keep it all. Even when offered to try Rocksbox for free, I was worried I wouldn’t like it because I’d have to return it all.
Don’t worry, I promise this story ends on a good note!
When I opened my Rocksbox, for the first time ever, I didn’t find a single thing that I didn’t instantly swoon over.
So, here’s how this works, you pay $19 per month of service, but you get to wear the jewelry until you send it back. If you want to buy a certain piece keep it and send back everything else. Then Rocksbox will send you your next box of goodies.
In my Rocksbox:
Jules Smith Open Geometric Necklace
Jenny Bird Flagstaff Earrings in Gold/Lapis
Wanderlust + Co V-Bar Crystal Gold Ring
There’s also ways of earning points to spend towards pieces you can’t stand to part with. The ring was favorite, and I came SO close to keeping it!
If this sounds like something you’d like, use the code tspxoxo to try your first month of Rocksbox for totally FREE!
