Styled by 5 Featuring Rad Swim

Each month myself and four other boss blogger babes have been styling the same piece of clothing and since we all look and think differently from each other (hair, religion, location, skin, size, height, style…all of the above), you’ll get five totally different looks. That means you’ll get to see what I style, on other body types so you can find something that is best for you!

Peplum Tankini Outfit

Spring for me means one thing. That it’s almost summer. Bring on the sunshine, beach trips, and days by the pool! And thanks to Rad Swim, the Styled by 5 crew is ready. Even if the weather isn’t.

The temperatures in New England are finally going to start feeling like spring. While I don’t have any upcoming plans involving swimwear, I can’t wait until I do. Once that’s the case, I plan to find reasons to wear a bathing suit as often as I can!

This peplum tankini that Deidre, Kaylynn, Jacque, and Lauryn have all styled, has sequins that give it a little extra glitz. A really fun way to stand out. And if that doesn’t appeal so much to you, you can do so subtly, like Kaylynn and I, by opting for it in black.

SO Not Over Overalls

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.

Maybe I’m alone on this, but I am SO not over overalls. It baffles me when anyone tells me that they don’t own any. I own at least three, and have been eyeing two pairs to add to my wardrobe for spring.

While I can’t physically force you to wear overalls, I get that everything isn’t for everyone, I wanted to share some of my Madewell faves.

As soon as the weather warms up, I want to reattempt a capsule wardrobe (a 10 x 10 challenge) and you better believe that a pair of overalls will be included. Maybe even two…

Spring Ready In Uniqlo’s New Collection

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.

Camisole and Gaucho Pants:  Uniqlo

Jogger Pants:  Uniqlo

Whenever I talk about Uniqlo everyone almost always thinks basics, I’m talking white t-shirts and black leggings basic. I’ve even been guilty of that assumption myself. But, after Uniqlo opened on Newbury Street, I quickly discovered that Uniqlo’s got more options that whatever you’re probably thinking.

Uniqlo’s new collection for spring, goes with so much that you already own. Since, in New England, it’s not quite spring yet, they’re great for layering.

Over, under, with, without…

If you can envision it, you can try it!

The two looks above are both neutral, classy outfits that can take you into spring without sacrificing (too much) warmth. I know I’m always cold, so heavier jackets are key. But, when the weather warms up, I’ll switch to something lighter like a trench jacket. I spotted some nice options while shopping around at Uniqlo, so that may have to happen. And hopefully sooner rather than later.

Add a cute purse (I prefer totes, but smaller one are what’s hot right now), a pair of heels (weather permitting), and you’re good to look good! Shop their new spring apparel here.

Club Monaco’s New York Fashion Week Collection Event

New York Fashion Week may be over but with Club Monaco’s New York Fashion Week Collection, you make every day NYFW. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen that I attended their shopping event with Leslie Musser of One Brass Fox at the Prudential Center.

1. The one thing I had to try on was the Colema Cold Shoulder Sweater. It comes in black and pink, I ended up falling hard for the black one. It’s the right amount of edgy and trendy, without being too over the top.

2. If I were going to go over the top, I spotted the perfect pair of Loeffler Randall heels that would do the trick! Coming in at just under $400, I had to pass on them, but there are definitely on my want list.

3. Deciding to try on a few sale sweaters was a good life choice. The Flutterby Ruffle Sweater was a pretty sweet alternative to the cold shoulder sweater for about $70 cheaper.

4. There was also the Ellodie Sweater, which was another cheaper, but still very on trend option.

5. The sweater I told myself that I was going to buy regardless, was the Mackenzie Stripe Sweater. It’s on sale for $69 and I have this thing with stripes. It would have been perfect, but I couldn’t find it and wanted to try it on first.

Even though I ended up leaving without making a purchase, the event was worth attending and I will be back to shop later on!

Styled by 5 featuring Daniel Wellington

Each month myself and four other boss blogger babes have been styling the same piece of clothing and since we all look and think differently from each other (hair, religion, location, skin, size, height, style…all of the above), you’ll get five totally different looks. That means you’ll get to see what I style, on other body types so you can find something that is best for you!

The Styled by 5 crew is teaming up with Daniel Wellington to show you how we style our watches. Use the code TWENTYSOMETHINGPLUS to save 15% on your order from www.danielwellington.com and get a Daniel Wellington watch of your very own!

I loved watches when I was younger. Maybe it was a kid thing, maybe it was just me. Either way, I can remember getting my first ever watch, it was a Mickey Mouse one, where his arms were the hands of the clock and had a bright red band. I wouldn’t be surprised if my mom still has it tucked away in a drawer somewhere. Years later, the manfriend and I argued over getting his cousin a watch for Christmas. I won. Both the disagreement and Christmas that year.

Now that I’m older, I’ve found that I haven’t worn watch nearly as often as I used to. That is, at least not until getting this classic one from Daniel Wellington. When I say it goes with everything, I mean that it goes with literally EVERYTHING. You can wearing it with jeans, a dress, for date night, you name it!

For four more ideas on what to wear with your watch, check out Deidre, Kaylynn, Jacque, and Lauryn‘s blogs as well!

What to Wear for Super Bowl Sunday

Super Bowl Party Outfit What to Wear for Super Bowl SundayNew England Pat Levi's NFL Flannel Shirt Super Bowl NFL Fan Style

Flannel Shirt: Levi’s | Denim Jacket: Levi’s | Tank Top: Madewell
Jeans: H&M (similar similar) | Shoes: Madewell | Necklace: Kate Spade

Regardless of whether you are a football fanatic or more like yay sports, you’re probably going to a Super Bowl Party tomorrow. You could always wear a jersey of the team you’re rooting for, but that’s definitely not you’re only option.

If you are rooting for a specific team, rep them by wearing their colors. As a New England Patriots fan, I will be rocking red, white, and blue. Even though I bought my jacket and flannel from the NFL Shop, you don’t have to. Huge football fan? By all means!

This particular outfit is not really New England weather appropriate, so I’ll be wearing it with closed toes shoes, a different pair of jeans, and with the buttons buttoned. But, if you’re looking for Super Bowl Party outfit inspiration, this look is easy enough to duplicate and tweak.

The New Madewell Jeans You Need to Have

Disclaimer: This post contains affiliate links.

It may not be spring quite yet, but Madewell just released new styles for the season. I would have tried a little harder to restrain myself, but with my trip to Palm Springs for Alt Summit next week, I felt there were a few things that would make my packing 1000 times easier.

Specifically? Jeans.

So many good options, but there were three pairs that, for me, are major must-haves!

10″ High-Rise Skinny Jeans in Hank Wash | If you haven’t switched over to higher waisted jeans, then what are you waiting for? I wanted a pair of lighter washed jeans and these are perfection. Zero fear of showing anything no one wants to see when bending over in these bad boys. Plus they make it look like you have legs for days!

9″ High-Rise Skinny Crop Jeans in Bruce Wash | Cuffing my skinny jeans has become almost second nature. I’m 5’4″ and if, like me, you aren’t tall enough to be a supermodel, then these cropped jeans are the answer to your prayers. I’m really hoping for more jeans this length.

Cali Demi-Boot Jeans in Pure White: Distressed Edition | I can’t tell you how many girls have walked into Madewell and asked about white distressed jeans. Well, they’re back! These are likely to be my most worn jeans throughout the spring and well into the summer.

Can’t wait to show you ways to wear each of these! What style jeans are you looking for this spring?

My Best Purchase of 2016

I love to shop, so it should come as literally zero surprise that I shop quite a bit. (Looking forward to some serious shopping at Alt Summit this year!)

Most of the things that I buy, are either practical or make a statement. You can’t go wrong with basics. They really can go with everything. But, it’s the statement pieces that take an everyday outfit and make it extraordinary.

For me, those statement pieces tend to come in the form of jewelry. Or shoes.

Shiny ponies are a particular weakness of mine. Last year I picked up a few new pairs. And this particular pair was my best purchase of 2016.

I know I shouldn’t play favorites, and I do love all of my shoes.

But this pair is special.

At first, I wasn’t fully sure that I wanted them. They were on sale, but that wasn’t enough for me. What won me over was the challenge to style them a multitude of ways.

So far, I wore them once. I dressed them down, but since they are pretty fancy shoes, I had to balance them out with a statement necklace.

In case you don’t live in New England, just let me tell you it gets cold! Like, frigid. The temperature can go from 60 degrees one day, to 20 (or less) the next.

These sudden drops are the worst!

To combat the cold weather, I’m a big fan of bundling up. Layers on layers on layers on layers. Think thick cozy sweaters, long sleeved bodysuits, and boot socks. Mostly because I’m a big baby when it comes to being cold.

And so is my skin. Trying Clarins Hydra-Essentiel serum and moisturizer has helped keep my skin moisturized in spite of how quickly the temperature and weather changes. So much so, that it stays hydrated all day.

So many people are surprised when they find out my age, and comment on my skin and how young it is. That is not case in the winter time. Well, at least, not before discovering Clarins Hydra-Essentiel products. So now, my skin can be quenched and radiant year-round!

The amount of leggings I own is absurd. And that’s even after finally throwing out the ones with holes in them. I don’t wear leggings out very much, but there are some days when you just don’t want to put on jeans. Leggings are comfortable and easy. Plus the black ones go with everything.

The Styled by 5 crew is teaming up with SweetLegs to show you five ways to wear black leggings!

Leggings for me are what I wear when I have a lot to get done. In the house, or running around. It made sense for me to pair them with sneakers, a simple graphic t-shirt, and a comfy cardigan. And having tons to do means that I need my trusty Transport Tote.

For four more black legging outfit ideas, make sure to check out Deidre, Kaylynn, Jacque, and Lauryn‘s blogs too!
